Healthy Kids Day

This has been a city wide event, one day that brings resources and activities to the families. We have partnered with Radio Disney on this for the last 5 years. Plans are under way for 2010. Please watch for details.

Nationally the YMCA has been sponsoring this event for 17 years and here in the Metro area this is the fifth year of the event.

Jim Hiner, President and CEO of the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver says that “Healthy Kids Day is our annual event to remind families to get outside and be healthy all summer long.” This event is a fun, family friendly way to promote healthy lifestyles for your children and all the kids in our community. “Increasing physical activity is one way to get healthier, and doing it as a family is a great way to reconnect with one another,” adds Hiner.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day is part of YMCA “Activate America,” a national long-term initiative focused on developing and implementing community-based solutions to help all Americans improve their health and wellness.

YMCA Healthy Kids day is supported by the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American Public Health Association, American Cancer Society, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Association of Chronic Disease Program Directors.
