We offer various Youth and Family Programs in Aurora.
Youth and Family Programs
Dance Classes (Ages 3-8)
Starting this October, we will be offering dance classes at the Lakehouse.
- Ballet/Creative Movement allows students to enjoy dance and begin learning the fundamentals of ballet and introductory dance movement through engaging music, social and motor skills.
- Pre Ballet/Jazz teaches students ballet basics and jazz techniques in a beginner setting. Students will be able to express themselves rhythmically and learn fun movements.
- Ballet/Jazz is designed to promote more confidence in dance movement through ballet technique and jazz styles. Ballet and Jazz help students continue to develop balance and coordination while having fun.
Y Leaders (Ages 14-18)
Y Leaders club is a place for teens to learn leadership skills and connect to their community through service to others. Youth can choose the capacity in which they are involved. Whether it be joining in on our service projects or taking part in the planning process, our Leaders gain a lot through volunteering. Y Leaders meets at the 6250 S. Main Street Suite 112 at Southlands Mall.
During our Wednesday meetings, young adults have the opportunity to be a part of planning and leading service projects. Using leadership and service learning curricula, teens will gain meaningful experience and leadership training. Y Leaders Club works closely on a Tobacco Free Parks, Trails and Open Spaces initiative with funding through the Tri-County Health Department.
Youth in Government (7-12 Grade)
A Statewide YMCA program for youth in 7-12 grade. Students have the opportunity to experience our state government first-hand with a three-day General Assembly at the Colorado State Capitol.
Kids Night Out (potty trained to 12 years old)
Treat yourself to a night off and treat the kids to a night of fun and friends with our enthusiastic Y staff. Kids will create crafts and works of art, enjoy games and dinner and a movie.
