Colorado Sports Hall of Fame Donates to YMCA of Metro Denver Youth Sports Program

[Denver, January 22, 2016] – Colorado Sports Hall of Fame (CSHOF) announced YMCA of Denver Metro as a recipient of its 2015 CSHOF “Championship Saturday”, CSHOF Induction & Awards Banquet and the CSHOF Golf Classic. YMCA of Metro Denver is receiving a $5,000 donation.

According to CSHOF President & CEO Tom Lawrence, the organization selected YMCA of Metro Denver because it meets its mission of supporting youth sports.

“It’s an honor to be selected by Colorado Sports Hall of Fame for this donation,” President & CEO of YMCA Metro Denver Jim Hiner said. “Our youth sports programs are based on the foundation of helping kids gain confidence, learning good sportsmanship, and supporting their teammates.”

The Y’s Youth Sports provides programming for Pre-K, elementary, middle school and high school youth. Children and teens can participate in basketball, flag football, soccer, baseball, volleyball, tennis, and sports camps throughout the year.

“As one of Denver’s largest nonprofits, the Y relies on financial support from the community to ensure everyone has a chance to participate in our programs. This donation will go a long way in supporting kids from the inside out. We are grateful to the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame for remembering the YMCA of Metro Denver,” Hiner said.

YMCA of Metro Denver is one of 25 charities selected to receive a donation from CSHOF.

The CSHOF donation is being made in partnership with CSHOF sponsors Gatorade, King Soopers/City Market, Denver Broncos Football Club, Sports Authority, Wells Fargo, Century Link, and El Pomar Foundation.
