YMCA Hires New Vice President of Development

[Denver, February 12, 2016] – YMCA of Metro Denver announces the appointment of Gloria Jara Price as Vice President of Development. In this role, Jara Price assists with donor relations, fundraising and special events at the Y.

“Gloria brings experience, enthusiasm and an innovative skill-set that will be a huge asset to the YMCA of Metro Denver. She’s a seasoned development professional with a wide variety of expertise in direct annual fundraising, planned giving, and special event leadership,” says Jim Hiner, YMCA of Metro Denver President and CEO.

Jara Price has over ten years of progressive management experience in development and fundraising. Prior to joining the YMCA of Metro Denver team, she worked for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, Make-A-Wish Colorado and Morris Animal Foundation in development and giving positions.

“I’m excited to return to the YMCA of Metro Denver. I love the values of the Y and am honored to be selected for this position,” says Jara Price.

Jara Price previously worked at YMCA of Orange County in Calif. as a campaign manager, executive assistant and mentor program director. While at the Y, she led multiple fundraising efforts that directly contributed towards increasing gifts by 400 percent when compared to the previous year. With an extensive background in leadership, fundraising and special events, Jara Price will help the Y achieve organizational goals and positively contribute to the work environment.

She is the board president for Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable, serves on the board for Scleroderma Foundation, Rocky Mountain Chapter, and volunteers at Bessie’s Hope. She graduated from Indiana University Bloomington School of Fundraising, Annual Giving; earned a B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior and certificate for professional fundraising from the University of California, Irvine; and completed University of Denver’s Institute of Leadership in Development program.

She replaces Jan Weimer who recently retired after 38 years of service.
