More than a gym or a place to workout, when you join the Y you belong to something greater. It's a place where communities come together, where kids develop self-confidence, and adults connect with friends and learn how to live healthier. The Southwest YMCA offers a full size gym, pool, walking track, dozens of fitness classes, cardio equipment and so much more. Most importantly, it's a place where people from all backgrounds and walks of life come together to volunteer and help our community become stronger. At the Y, we all build relationships that further our sense of belonging and purpose.

Sports are just as beneficial for adults as they are for kids. Participating in an adult sports league is a great way to get exercise, reduce stress, and improve your social life. Studies show that adult sports also lower the risk of heart disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve overall health. If you want to join the fun, look to the YMCA. The Southwest Family YMCA has teams forming for the 2018 winter season for basketball.
Healthy Weight and Your Child empowers 7-13-year-olds to grow into a healthy weight and to live a healthier lifestyle, with the support of their families. Through the leadership of Y staff, the 4 month, evidence-based program engages a child and adult as a pair, so together they can understand how the home environment and other factors influence the choices that lead to a healthy weight. The program emphasizes behavior changes to support healthy eating and physical activity.
