Start 2018 With Power!

The “Power Your Pulse” 90-day Challenge starts January 1st! This is an ideal way to start the New Year healthy and stay on track through those important first few months.

Just complete the monthly Power Tasks to get active and healthy -- and get chances to win great prizes.

Adult Basketball

Sports are just as beneficial for adults as they are for kids. Participating in an adult sports league is a great way to get exercise, reduce stress, and improve your social life. Studies show that adult sports also lower the risk of heart disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve overall health. If you want to join the fun, look to the YMCA. The Southwest Family YMCA has teams forming for the 2018 winter season for basketball.

Healthy Weight and Your Child

Healthy Weight and Your Child empowers 7-13-year-olds to grow into a healthy weight and to live a healthier lifestyle, with the support of their families. Through the leadership of Y staff, the 4 month, evidence-based program engages a child and adult as a pair, so together they can understand how the home environment and other factors influence the choices that lead to a healthy weight. The program emphasizes behavior changes to support healthy eating and physical activity.
