The Schlessman Family YMCA offers a variety of programs for kids of all ages. We offer new programs seasonally, learn more below:
Half Day Camps
Over the summer (June 4 —August 17) we will be offering half day camps and mini-camps. Each week is a different theme, and all activities can be modified for age and ability.
Unless otherwise noted, all camps will swim Monday—Thursday of each week.
Caregiver and Me Junior Yoga (Ages 2-4)
Jr. Yoga is geared toward little ones and their caregivers.
**This class is a Caregiver and Me style class, which means parents are encouraged to participate with their child.**
Youth Yoga (Ages 3-6)
Through Youth Yoga, kids will learn basic poses while focusing on motor movements.
Pre Ballet I Standard (Ages 3-4)
This class focuses on the independent motions and positions of ballet.
Tap Basics (Ages 3-6)
Learn the introductory and basic moves of tap through our Tap Basics class!
Play to Learn (Ages 2-6)
Our non-licensed classroom environment is perfect for kids who are getting ready to start school or are just being introduced to structured activities.
Through Play to Learn, children are encouraged to learn at their own pace through stories, interactive games, crafts and group lessons.
Kids Night Out (Ages 4-10)
Join us for a night of dinner, crafts, games and friends with Kids Night Out!
Kids Day Out (Ages 6-12)
This special program takes place on DPS No School Days, including holiday breaks. Join us for themed crafts, games and swimming.
Gladiator Training (Ages 6-10)
Need an outlet to burn some energy after school? This Gladiator Training club will explore different ways to use our active bodies! From obstacle courses, games, swimming and even some shadow boxing, this class is guaranteed fun!
Hula Hoop Dance (6-10)
Designed to increase body awareness and confidence, through our Hula Hoop class participants will decorate their own hoop, explore different movement styles and just have fun! Registration is for a 6 week session and includes a hoop. Thursdays, 4:30-5:30p
Homeschool P.E. (Ages 6-14)
A program specifically designed for home-schooled kiddos that need space to move and swim. The group will rotate between gross motor play in the gym and swimming in our family pool. We will cover the basics of body knowledge, play team games, introduce different sports, work on strokes and play water games.
Child Watch While You Work Out
For YMCA members while you workout at the YMCA, we offer Child Watch. Our Child Watch is free to family memberships and is open throughout the week.
