Colorado Model UN
Welcome to the YMCA Model UN Program, a unique Model UN experience for middle school students. Our program is youth-driven! From planning to execution, our program provides an unprecedented simulation of the UN that highlights the themes of collaboration, cultural understanding, and problem solving that are at the core of the organization’s real-life goals. We help students develop their debate skills and find their voice in a one-of-a-kind, multifaceted program that brings together servant leadership, public speaking, and global problem solving.
The 2018 Colorado Model UN Conference will take place in late spring, with preparations beginning in January.
Our mission is simple – build the global leaders of tomorrow, today.
Find Your Voice
Great leaders and speakers are not born – everyone has the capacity to excel with a unique style. We strive to empower young people to speak up, hone debate and persuasion skills, construct effective arguments, and engage in conflict resolution in a collaborative environment.
Develop Global Understanding
In our increasingly connected world, regardless of field, having a firm understanding of cultures and international issues is essential. We strive to broaden students’ horizons and expose them to new ways of thinking anchored in a culture of respect.
Leadership is not about the spotlight – it is about service to those you lead and character. This spirit is ingrained in our program – youth chair and plan conference, delegates mentor less experienced peers, and we bring international issues and the ability to affect them to life through conference-wide service projects.
We help form bonds, create exchanges of ideas across diverse backgrounds, and connect like-minded individuals in our community.
