Annual Schlessman Community Picnic, August 28

Fall Swim Lessons Now Meet 2x a Week

We are now offering group swim lessons twice a week for four weeks on Tuesdays/Thursdays! 

Community Partnership: A Little Help and the Schlessman YMCA

The Schlessman YMCA’s Parkinson’s High Energy Exercise class uses regular exercise to help reduce or delay symptoms of the disease plus helps keep participants strong and connected.

A challenge for some seniors living with Parkinson’s is safe and reliable transportation to the class. A Little Help, a local non-profit organization, has stepped up to assist class participants who need transportation assistance. These individuals are able to attend the Parkinson’s class weekly with the support of dedicated volunteer, Kathy Cravy, who transports them to class.

“The Parkinson’s exercise class makes such a difference in helping me feel better and stay active” said member Nancy, “I am only able to attend thanks to A Little Help volunteer, Kathy”.

Scale the Summit

Last summer, hundreds of Y members took on the “Scale the Summit” Challenge and reached new heights in their personal wellness. Now, the challenge is back on and this year it’s longer, bigger, and tougher. Join us on the journey to complete 30 workouts in 3 months – June 1 to August 31. Reach the “summit” and be entered to win a free month of membership or a free session with a Y personal trainer.  We hope to see you at the trailhead!
