Get Started at the YMCA

Get Started is two complimentary sessions of individualized, one-on-one coaching support for Y members. It’s a sensible, easy to follow plan to help you make the most out of your wellness goals.

  • Create a personalized wellness program
  • Get insights for personal training
  • Build on progress through ongoing Y programs

What happens during each appointment?

The first appointment consists of goal setting and an introduction to our health and wellness center. The second appointment is one on one personalized instruction with a certified trainer to help you make the most of your workout plan. Your work out will be based on your personal goals and will later help you connect with Y programs like personal training, group exercise, nutrition, and chronic disease prevention.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers, and come ready to engage in some exercise based upon your current fitness level. Water is always suggested.

What if I already exercise regularly?

Get Started is customizable to meet your needs. Whether it’s training tips for your next race or learning some new lifting moves, we’ll work together to help you make the most of your YMCA experience.

Does Get Started Expire?

Nope! Although we strongly encourage new members to schedule their first appointment right away, you may choose to participate in Get Started at any time during your membership.
