SUMMER JOBS AT THE YMCA
Summers at the YMCA can be a fun, life-changing experiences for kids – creating enduring memories and friendships. Thousands of kids converge every summer at the YMCA for day camp, sports and swimming. Days are filled with friends and fun.
You can be part of the summer fun too! Every spring, the YMCA seeks out dynamic team members who can join us for the summer months as day camp leaders, counselors and lifeguards. It’s an ideal gig for high school juniors and seniors, college students on break, or people looking for seasonal roles.
The skills you gain as a YMCA team member you take with you to any future job. Plus, a summer position at the Y can be a launching pad for a long term career within the YMCA. Team members Gio and Claudia were counselors at Camp Chief Ouray at YMCA of the Rockies and today serve in roles in our Solution Center and at our Downtown YMCA. Co-workers Abby and Darren began their Y careers as day camp counselors together at the YMCA and today are leaders on our Youth Development team.

Looking for a fun job to build your leadership skills? Do you enjoy working with kids and organizing activities? There’s a place waiting for you at the Y! Positions available at locations across the metro area.
- assist in daily operation of the camp program
- oversee team members
- communicate with parents and school personnel
Qualifications: Age 18+; background check; First Aid/CPR certified, etc.
Would you be a positive, enthusiastic role model to campers? You’ll fit right in! Help assist with day camp activities, organization and attend field trips with campers. Monday - Friday, No weekends!

- create a sense of belonging among campers and staff
Qualifications: Age 16-18+; experience working with kids
Do you have a welcoming and courteous attitude and enjoy the sun and fun of the pool? This is the position for you!
Responsibilities: • deliver a safe experience for people of all ages • educate swimmers on rules • understand emergency procedures
Qualifications: Age 15+; American Red Cross/YMCA lifeguard certification, CPR-AED, other qualifications.
Lifeguard training available at the Y and cost will be reimbursed after 3 months of employment.
