Arvada Youth Sports

The Susan M. Duncan Family YMCA in Arvada offers year-round youth sports and fun for all skill levels. Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning a sport or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out.

We would like to give a special thanks to our youth sports sponsor.

Baseball

The great thing about baseball is the game progresses with the skills of the child. By offering t-ball through player pitch, athletes at all levels can enjoy the game. Age appropriate rules also help to keep the games moving and teach kids the rules and traditions of baseball.

Flag Football

Our flag football is played 5-on-5 and is designed to help kids learn the rules of the game and the fundamentals through fast-paced games and drills. Sportsmanship, teamwork and having fun are the emphasis.

Home School PE

The goal of physical education classes for home schooled students is to have planned individual and cooperative physical activity and fitness assessments promoting the students’ optimum physical, mental, emotional and social development.

Lacrosse Clinics

The focus is on teaching the fundamentals of the fastest sport on two feet through games and drills that emphasize the child’s enjoyment of the game. Basics of cradling, shooting, passing and groundball techniques will be taught, along with game concepts and team

Soccer

Soccer is the perfect sport to get your child involved in no matter what age they are. With an emphasize on fair play and safety first, the YMCA soccer program is progressive with age appropriate rules to help teach the game and keep it fun at every level.

Sports Camps

Throughout the year we offer various sports camps where players can improve their skills and fundamentals of the game.

Volleyball Leagues

Team concepts like basic rules, game strategy and mechanics will be introduced as well as work on individual skills like passing, setting and hitting. Our coaches focus on the importance of teamwork as well as individual player skill development.
