The Southwest YMCA offers two preschool programs for potty trained children ages 2.5-5 years old.

Full-time Preschool (year-round)
7 am to 5:30 pm (Closes at 4 pm on the second Tuesday of every month for teacher development).
 
  • Full-time (5 days a week) - $720 per month (full-time participation also includes a family membership at the Y).
  • Part-time (3 days a week) - $500 per month.
  • Part-time (2 days a week) - $420 per month.
  • Half-day (5 days a week) - $520 per month
 
Price listings are per student.
All options require a $50.00 per family registration fee. 

Colorado Preschool Program (CPP)

September through May, based on the Denver Public Schools schedule
9 to 11:30 am or 1 to 3:30 pm
Children must have a birth certificate and must live in the city and county of Denver.

Both preschool programs feature:

  • Low teacher-to-student ratio.
  • 3-star Qualistar Rating - Qualistar is Colorado's Quality Rating System of childcare programs in on a provisional to 4-Star scale. 
  • Interactive assessments by Teaching Strategies GOLD. This is an authentic, ongoing observational system.  (Coming soon: parents are provided online links for real-life examples and information about how their children are learning and developing.)
  • Open-ended play-based curriculum.
  • Activities and experiences to enhance skills in language, literacy, creative arts, science, math, physical development, and healthy living.
  • Experienced, certified caregivers - All teachers are certified in CPR and first aid, have passed criminal background checks, have completed a child abuse prevention course, and have completed or are pursuing degrees in early childhood education.
  • Parent-teacher conferences.
  • Parent engagement and involvement - parents are welcome to participate in the classrooms activited like storytelling, leading activities, and sharing experiences.
  • Convenient access and support in helping children take part in additional YMCA activities such as swim lessons, ballet, and sports 
  • Family activities throughout the year. 
  • Healthy breakfast and afternoon snacks.
