Wolfe Donation to Fund COVID-19 Response Efforts

DENVER, CO (April 14, 2020)– Although football player Derek Wolfe is no longer a Denver Bronco, he and his wife Abigail consider Denver their home after spending eight seasons in Colorado. That is why the couple, through their foundation, The Wolfe Pack Foundation, have donated $10,000 to help the YMCA of Metro Denver provide relief efforts to community members and families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

All funds will go toward the YMCA of Metro Denver’s emergency COVID-19 relief efforts to support key programs for community members and families in need, including emergency childcare, food distribution and outreach to seniors.

“My wife and I think it is very important to make sure we are using our platform to help

the Denver community. This pandemic is affecting everyone and this is how we would like to help. We are asking those who are able to assist, to pay it forward with us at www.justgiving.com/campaign/Wolfe

-Derek Wolfe

Derek and Abigail Wolfe have aligned with the YMCA of Metro Denver because of its reach and ability to aid in multiple capacities and locations throughout the city.

“We are so appreciative of the support of The Wolfe Pack Foundation,” said Sue Glass, CEO of the YMCA of Metro Denver. “The Y prides itself on serving its community in both the good times and bad. This funding will go a long way in helping us provide a crucial support system to our neighbors impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Key programs the Y is providing to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic include:

  • Free childcare to all first responders, medical personnel and essential workers, Monday through Friday, regardless of whether they have a Y membership.
  • Helping to distribute food for those experiencing food insecurity at multiple locations throughout the metro area in partnership with the Food Bank of the Rockies.
  • Ensuring that seniors are not suffering in isolation and working to meet the immediate needs of this vulnerable population.
